Welcome! At Whole Health Chiropractic, we are a family, and we are excited and honored to have your family become part of ours.

We have been proudly helping adult and pediatric patients in our Des Moines community find health and healing for the last 13 years. Unlike conventional medicine, which focuses on attempting to treat disease once it occurs, Whole Health Chiropractic Wellness Center emphasizes finding the root cause of the issue, helping the body heal itself, and improving health in an effort to reduce the risk of pain and illness in the first place.

Dr. Laura Rehmer has a passion for helping others feel their best and practices a whole person approach to wellness. This approach means getting to know YOU, looking for underlying causes of any symptom or disruption, and working directly with the nervous system and brain to promote healing so you can live life fully! Dr. Sara Schany

Chiropractor, Acupuncturist

My name is Dr. Sara Schany. I grew up in Emmetsburg, Iowa. I did my undergrad at the University of Iowa in Interdepartmental Study of Health Sciences and then went to Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN for my Doctorate of Chiropractic. While there, I also became certified in Acupuncture, Rocktape, Webster technique, and Activator Technique.

After I graduated, I practiced in my hometown for 4 years and then worked for another office in Cherokee, IA for another 3 years. My husband and I recently relocated to Des Moines for his job and we moved into a loft downtown. In my free time I love to read, clean and organize (while listening to audiobooks), paint, and try out all the fun places to eat in the metro with my husband.

I love to work on everyone but kids just bring an extra burst of joy to my day. I would say some of my favorite cases are those with headaches, plantar fasciitis, elbow tendonitis or just your basic wellness adjustment. I can't wait to start to get to know all of you!

Office Dog

As our resident office pup, I enjoy playing tug of war and keep-away with all of our children and families. As a rescue dog, however, sometimes I can be a little shy at first with adults. Don’t worry, I warm up quickly and love making everyone at WHC feel welcome!
